ESA is a full service home performance testing, HERS Rating, and energy consulting company.
A home inspection by ESA is the first step towards these common homeowner objectives:
:: Save Money On Your Energy Bills A home that meets the minimum ENERGY STAR requirements saves up to 30% annually compared to the average American home, which equates to $55 per month or $660 annually.
:: Reduce Your Home's Maintenance Costs Increasing the efficiency of your home will increase the life expectancy of your heating and cooling (HVAC) equipment, and reduce the potential for moisture damage caused by infiltration of moist outside air.
:: Increase Your Home's Value Ever-increasing energy costs give efficient homes higher appeal and market value, so most of the money you invest in efficiency measures can be recovered when you sell your home.
:: Improve The Air Quality In Your Home Poor air quality in homes has been linked to many health problems, so it is important to properly ventilate a house and to seal leaks that bring in polluted air from undesired locations like attics and crawl spaces.
:: Make Your Home More Comfortable Efficient homes have tighter shells and duct work, which ensures that heat is more evenly distributed throughout the home so there are no hot, cold, or drafty spots.
:: Qualify For Tax Incentives, Utility Rebates, and Special Financing Investing in home efficiency measures can help you qualify for state and federal tax incentives, special finaning from major banks, and rebate programs from your local gas and electric companies.
:: Protect The Environment Homes account for 21% of all U.S. carbon emissions, the primary pollutant linked to climate change. By making your home more efficient, you are doing your part to reduce air pollution and fight global warming.
Our approach for home energy inspections varies between new and existing homes. For new homes, we start with a projected rating based on plans, then we inspect the property at different phases of construction, and we do a final on-site inspection once construction is complete. For existing homes, we start with an on-site inspection (we offer basic audits and comprehensive ratings), then we present the homeowner with a list of recommended improvements. Our comprehensive ratings include a more detailed report with projected costs and payback times, and a final on-site inspection once the improvements have been made by the homeowner. We follow RESNET HERS guidelines for all ratings (includes blower door and duct leakage tests), and we follow EPA's Home Performance With EnergyStar guidelines when recommending improvements. When applicable, we provide the homeowner with the certifications they need to take advantage of tax credits, utility rebates, and special financing opportunities.
We proudly offer energy audit and rating services to homeowners in the Northern Nevada communities of Reno, Sparks, Carson City, Dayton, Minden, Gardnerville, Genoa, Stateline, Zephyr Cove, Glenbrook, Incline Village, and all of the smaller communities in Washoe Valley, Carson Valley, and around Lake Tahoe. Nevada counties served: Washoe, Carson, and Douglas.

We are proud to provide rating services to qualify new homes for the ENERGY STAR® label. ENERGY STAR qualified new homes are substantially more energy efficient than homes built to the minimum code requirements. Even in states with more rigorous energy codes, the U.S. EPA ensures that ENERGY STAR remains the symbol for truly energy-efficient performance. These homes are good for businesses, consumers, and the environment.
